All Bar One

An evening wining and dining at
All Bar One

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a blog post, University and work has taken over my life at the moment but I’M BACK!

At the weekend I visited the all new revamped All Bar One in Norwich to have to dinner , and a few drinks. Our table was booked for 6.00pm I was running late so I ended up arriving around 5/10 past. When we arrived we got shown to our seats. We then sat down and got shown where the menus are so we spend about 5 minutes looking through the menus and then ordered our first round of drinks. Nathan had a peroni and I decided to have a mango Bellini. I felt really sophisticated when the drinks arrived  (it’s a good job I dressed up for the occasion). There were lots of being in suits and dresses and some people in just casual clothes so you could wear whatever would make you feel comfortable. You also don’t have to have a meal if you don’t want too there is a space specifically just for drinks near the bar area.

Anyway, after we had been given our drinks the lovely waitress ask us if we were ready to order and we definitely were. For starters we decided to go for a stonebaked garlic bread, pan fried king prawns and lamb kibbeh. All the appertisers were 3 for £15 so that was an option not to miss. The garlic bread was gorgeous (it was the size of a full pizza) so bear that in mind if you are going for a 3 course meal and the prawns were smothered in a chilli and paprika sauce which gave your pallet abit of a tingle.

The starter got eaten  very quickly and it was time to have another drink before the mains arrived. I just ordered a lemonade this time time round and Nathan of course had another peroni.

For mains I ordered steak frites and Nathan ordered fish and chips. I was really excited for this course as steak is one of my favourite’s and I was excited to see how it different from other places… all I can say is WOW!

Rooftop Gardens

A Sneak Preview

So last night I attended the VIP preview for the opening of Rooftop Gardens in Norwich. I found out about the event through twitter and got invited to be put down on the list, in which of course I had to do so I could go to this amazing place. One thing to mention is that this is the first rooftop bar/restaurant in Norwich so I was so excited when I heard about it and was intrigued as to how they were going to pull it off. Well all i can say is, Rooftop Gardens… you pulled it off in style.

The event was from 6pm-9pm, me and my friend Tara arrived at around 7.15 and it was completely packed in there already! It looked positive. Its located on Rose Lane in Norwich. The nearest car park is the new Rose Lane car park and this car park prices aren’t too bad either. Then from that car park its just a couple of minutes walk up to The Union House building where Rooftop Gardens in located on the fifth floor. It is also accessibly by foot and estimated around a 10 minute walk from the city centre.

Timeless Truth Mask Review

Sheet Mask

I’ve been on the hunt for a sheet mask for ages. I found lots that were available in USA but none for in the UK. However I got advised to try out Timeless Truth – Sheet masks. When I visited the website I was so impressed by the variation and the different options you had to purchase them as well. You can buy them individually or in a packet of 5. Not only do they have a range of facial sheet masks they also do an eye mask (in which I cannot wait to try out next).

With any facial mask I always feel it’s a bit hit and miss as to whether they are any good or not. These masks caught my attention because many of their beauty sheet masks have won beauty awards and they also feature in a lot of magazines. So that surely meant they must be good right?

When my masks arrived I got the Bio Cellulose Apple Stem Cell Collagen Facial Mask and the Multipeptide Calming Revitalising Facial Sheet Mask. I was super excited to try them both out.

I decided to try out the apple one first, because I thought it was a little different to any other facial mask I had tried before.

A couple of things you should know about these products:

  • They are very generous with the amount of serum on the masks and in the sachet, so use it as an advantage. Once you have popped your sheet mask on and taken it off again rub the rest of the serum into your face and neck, and the serum left in the sachet pop in the fridge for another day to gentle rub on either your body or face again.
  • You can pop it in the fridge before hand if you want it to be refreshing.
  • You can pop the sachet in some warm water before hand if you want it to be even more relaxing and calming.
  • With the fusion range the ‘darker’ coloured side is placed on your face to ensure that the active products release when coming into contact with your warm skin.

Now what did I think about the Bio Cellulose Apple Stem Cell Collagen Facial Sheet Mask?

WE’RE GETTING A PUPPY

Labrador Puppy

So the other day my dad randomly text my mum once she had finished work saying ‘I’m coming to pick you up, want to go look at some puppies?’ And of course, my mum being my mum said yes straight away.

We used to have a black Labrador call Jasper who my mum adored ever so much however when he was just 4 years old he got extremely ill and unfortunately passed away. Ever since that day, my mum has been heart broken and said she wouldn’t get any other dog.

Well anyway she kinda changed her mind. When her and my dad went to view them, there was this little white Labrador (full pedigree) that wouldn’t leave her alone and she just couldn’t say no!

After her telling me we were going to get it I was so excited but sad that I never got to see him. So just yesterday Nathan & I took a trip to visit the little cutie. When me and Nathan visited he was so cute and energetic we just wanted stay and play with him all day! I started speaking to the lady about how my dad found them and she told me that he had been in contact with them for the past year and a half but decided to keep it a secret from all of us. I can’t believe he managed to keep it a secret, if it was me then I would have found it extremely difficult.

Mum has decided to call him Oscar and he gets to come home in just 3 more weeks and we are all so excited to have a dog again!

Do you guys have any dogs? Any tips on puppies?

University Newbie? Me Too

Prepping for University

In just a few week time I start my university journey. I’m on the road to becoming a primary teacher. How exciting/nerve recking is that? I’ve spent the last two years working and taking holidays because I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I mean when I finished school I studied Musical Theatre and had a huge dream of becoming a west end actress, I then decided that wasn’t for me and starting doing lots of volunteering and decided you know what, I think i’d quite like to be a primary teacher. So here I am ready to make the first move. I think getting back into studying is going to seem quite difficult at first but I think once i’m in the swing of things i’ll really enjoy it.

I start studying at the University of East Anglia on the 26th September and i’ll be doing a BA Honours in Education then will continue my studying after with a PCGE in Primary Education. THEN I WILL BE QUALIFIED. WOO.

So heres how I’m prepping for uni:

So every University has different ways for enrolment and prepping. I got an email saying i had 8 tasks to do before my starting date. They were things like, making sure my details were all correct, setting an IT password to access to Universities site, adding a photo for my campus card, setting up my uni email etc. Now i’ve already completed these steps my last step is to actually just go to the uni and enrol properly I will do this on the first day which is the 26th. Other than that with regards for signing up to the university it is all done.

A Weekend Away

Sandgate

So on Thursday night me, Nathan and our two friends Craig & Beth took a 3 hour drive down to Folkestone to stay for a couple of nights. We were very lucky in the fact Beth’s uncle had a holidays home in which he was so kind to let us stay. I had drawn the short straw and had to drive but actually it wasn’t half as bad as what I thought it was going to be. Before we left off we stopped at mine & Nathan’s favourite little Italian in our town for some energy for the journey.

So after we were all fuelled up it was time to hit the road and get on the way to Folkestone. After 3 hours (we did stop at Tesco to get beer and donuts and rubbish really) we got to the holiday home we decided to find a cute pub and have a couple of drinks.

After we had finished our drinks we headed back and straight to sleep.

Montagues & Capulets

All Rooms Takeover

On Saturday night I went and watched Montagues & Capulets with many other bands play at The Waterfront Mainstage. The host’s were The Tilting Sky and named the event a special all rooms takeover with these bands:

The Thinking Men // Tibetan Night Terrors // Youth Killed It // Tokyo // Black Shuk // Montagues & Capulets // Marigolds // Chapter Of Wolves // City Hands // Gentlemen // Dog Fight

The event was promoted by all the bands social media and on a Facebook event. Tickets were £7 advance £9 on the door (but I was very lucky and got on the guest list) and you even got free admission to the club event after which is a complete BONUS. Obviously only over 18’s.

Unfortunately I didn’t get to watch all of the bands play but for the bands that I did watch, Norwich definitely has some talent in the area. One band I have seen live before is Montagues & Capulets now this band has been around for a few years now with a variety of different members for university reasons. Nathan and Ross have been together as the main duo since college I believe when they met at Access to Music.

Here’s a little snippet of their song ‘The back of your neck’ from the gig.

I didn’t actually get the full video of it because it’s going to be their next single so you guys will have to hold tight until they release it for the full version.

CAKE SHAKES

An afternoon at the White Horse

So yesterday afternoon I went for an afternoon visit to The White Horse in Spixworth well its actually in Crostwick. Now i’ve never been here before but I know a few people that work there and have heard some great things not only just from them but from other people too so I thought I would go and check it out.

It’s located on a main road which is 60mph so you if you’ve never been before trying to estimate where about it is was difficult but once you see the big sign its easy. However heading back out was a bit of  a mare driving back out onto a main road on a Sunday was a bit hectic, we were waiting a good 5-10 minutes before we could actually drive out but other than that the parking facilities were great.

Now as you pulled into the pub there were so many gorgeous plants, flowers and tree’s… it really was beautiful and also plenty of benches and table to eat outside. We decided to eat outside as the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day. FullSizeRender 6FullSizeRender 11FullSizeRender 13FullSizeRender 16

Once we found a sat we went and ordered, now we have heard some amazing things about not only the food but the cake shakes that they do. So when we went to the bar that the first thing we ordered. Now I went for a strawberry one and Nathan went for a caramel and banana one. We didn’t order any food as we knew that the milkshake was going to be big and filling and my gosh is definitely was!

Spinning

Spinning at Vinnies Gym

For those who read my introduction to fitness blog which I posted last week you would have seen that the gym I go to has lots of different classes so I thought I would give you guys more detail and more of an insider of what I get up to when I go to a spin class.

So theres lots of questions i’m going to be answering for any of you guys that want to join in on a spinning class. We have four spin instructors at my gym Nick, Angelo, Joe and Stu. As all the photos were taking during Angelo’s spin class I’m also going to be reviewing that. (Dont worry he knows I’m doing this and i’ve told him i’ll be nice).

Structure

So we start off with a 5 minute warm up cycling gently with zero resistant on and stretching out our necks, arms and legs to get ready for the class.

After you are warmed up you have to prepare yourself for the next 40 minutes of hard work. Now every instructor is different so when I go to different classes the routine is always different which is good to mix things up.

Fitness at Vinnies Gym

First fitness post – Overview

So I usually write about holidays, hotels or what I get up to during my days off. However i’ve decided to widen my blog and add in some health and fitness posts.

So to start things off… Where do I exercise? I live in a town called Attleborough about 30 minutes away from Norwich. I don’t know about you but I don’t see the point in driving to a gym it just doesn’t make sense to me. So for me by best option is Vinnies Gym & Exercise Centre located just around a 15 minute walk from my house, which is perfect! I’ve had many personal trainers and joined many other gyms before but the main thing that caught my eye about this gym, was the class timetable that they run.

13516398_1152176488181361_6879662611465023609_n

Now when I saw this timetable I was extremely interested in joining so joined straight away. The classes can have up to around 10 people on them so you have to book in ASAP to ensure you have a spot. The trainers at the gym are lovely and will work you hard and will ensure that the workout is helping you as much as it possibly can.
